houndstooth pattern

The houndstooth pattern is a classic example of tessellation. M.C. Escher, one of my favourite artists, used this technique quite frequently in his art.

For the longest time I have been under the impression that detailed nail art is the hardest thing to do. I am always in awe of what my fellow bloggers are doing out there, and always wonder, “How do they do it?” Well, I hate to break it to y’all but the invention of nail stamping is just FANTASTIC!

KONAD Nail Stamping plate #M63

I came across KONADs nail stamping kits online, and I had to have a go at it! Voila! It is the easiest, most effective way of achieving nails that give the illusion of a professional job done within seconds. Respect to all those girls who can make this pattern freehand. Maybe one day I will become that good, but till then- nail stamping it is!
